Help A Hound, Inc. Canine Rescue, like so many other Rescues is all Volunteer and have dogs in Foster homes and many together in one location. If you are in the Mohawk Valley, NY area you will be able to meet them all in one place, unless they are in a Foster home and then an individual meeting will be arranged. Meetings may be arranged by contacting us at the telephone number listed below or sending an e-mail.

We are in the office from 8:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Saturday. If you have to leave a message we will do our best to get back with you the same day.

If there is a Canine emergency please contact your nearest 24 hour Emergency Animal Hospital for your area. We do not treat animals, but if you don't know what to do we can assist you in finding an Emergency Clinic in your area.

If you have found a dog, been given a dog, or know of a dog that has been beaten, abused, or otherwise neglected call your local Animal Control Officer or the MSPCA for your area. Then call the police.

It is a FELONY in the state of Massachusetts to abuse an animal of any kind. In fact, In November, 2004, animal cruelty, as defined in Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 272, Section 77, became a felony. Until November 17th, 2004 animal cruelty had been considered a misdemeanor. Now, violations of this law may result in a sentence of up to 5 years in state prison, or up to 2.5 years in a county jail and/or a fine of up to $2,500.
